1/3 cup shortening ▢1/3 cup butter ▢3/4 cup sugar ▢1 egg ▢1 tsp vanilla extract ▢1/2 tsp almond extract ▢1 tsp baking powder ▢1/2 tsp salt ▢1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour ▢8 oz. cream cheese softened ▢1 cup white chocolate chips ▢1 1/2 cups strawberries chopped ▢1/2 cup sugar ▢1/3 cup water ▢2 tbsp. cornstarch ▢Large Tub Cool Whip

Step : 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9-by-13-inch pan, Cream the butter, shortening, and sugar together. Combine until airy. Whisk together the eggs, almond extract, and vanilla extract.

Step : 2 

Combine baking powder, salt, and flour in a separate bowl and blend thoroughly. Add gradually to the creamed mixture until thoroughly combined. Apply to the underside of the lubricated pan.

Step : 3

In a dish, melt white chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time. Blend in the softened cream cheese until thoroughly combined. Spread over the layer of sugar cookies, then chill.

Step : 4

Combine cornstarch and sugar in a small saucepan. Stir in water and sliced strawberries over medium-high heat until the mixture boils.

Step : 5

Remove from heat once the liquid reaches a boil and allow to settle for 10 minutes. Once poured over the cream cheese layer, chill for one to two hours.

Step : 6

Cool Whip on top, then refrigerate until serving.
