Recipe for Buckwheat Kasha

Toasted buckwheat groats, 1 cup 1.75 ounces purified water 1-2 tablespoons, to flavor, unsalted butter (I used unsalted butter) 1/2 teaspoon, or to flavor, salt (sea salt was used).

INSTRUCTIONS STEP- 1

Thoroughly strain and rinse buckwheat.

STEP- 2 

Buckwheat is combined with 1 3/4 cups water, 1 tablespoon butter, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a medium sauce pan. Simmer for 18 to 20 minutes on low heat, covered with a tight-fitting lid after bringing to a simmer. Similar to cooking rice, it should hiss during preparation and become silent when complete. Optimal: Add an additional 1 tablespoon of butter.
